The Colorado State Lottery started selling lottery tickets in April of 1983, with much acclaim. Colorado has been partners with The Multi-State Lottery Association, Powerball since 2001. Colorado didn't become partners with Mega Millions until May of 2010, The Colorado State Lottery, entered into partnership with the Multi-Jurisdictional Lottery Mega Millions the same day as the State of South Dakota, May 16th 2010. More than $2.3 billion has been estimated to be returned to the State of Colorado in lottery proceeds since 1983. Must be 18 years of age or older to play.

LOTTERY REGULATIONS AND COMMISSIONERS

The Colorado Lottery Commission, is comprised of six members, a Director of the Colorado Lottery and five Colorado Lottery Commissioners. At least one member of the Colorado Lottery Commission must have served as a Law Enforcement Officer for at least five years, one member of the Commission must be a Practicing Attorney in the State of Colorado for at least five years, and one member of the Colorado Lottery Commission must be a Certified Public Accountant in the State of Colorado for no less than five years. The Colorado Lottery Commission oversees Games, Retailers, Rules and Regulations and Conduct of the Colorado State Lottery. DISTRIBUTION OF COLORADO STATE LOTTERY FUNDS

Colorado State Lotteries, lottery proceeds are distributed as follows, 50% percent to The Great Outdoors Colorado Trust Fund or (GOCO). Great Outdoors Colorado donates monies to fund Wildlife Conservation in Colorado, (GOCO) Builds Trails, Fund's Wildlife Habitat, Preserve's River Quality, make's available Ranch Lands and Opened Recreation Areas such as Rest Stops, Boat Docking, and Wild-land Viewpoints. Colorado State Lottery is Great Outdoors Colorado only source of financing, lottery funds for Great Outdoors Colorado are capped at $35 million dollars. 40% percent is made available to The Conservation Trust Fund, which is responsible for Park and Recreation Destination Creation. The Conservation Trust Fund uses funds set aside to provide for the Counties and Districts of Colorado with Land Acquisition, Purchasing of Equipment, Park Maintenance, Development of Community Facilities, Maintenance and Preservation of Community Facilities and Parks. 10% percent goes to The Colorado Division of Parks and Outdoor Recreation, which is allocated monies for all Forty-Two State Parks in Colorado. (CDPOR) divides up the lottery monies for all 42 parks and provides construction and maintenance of facilities in set aside parks. When Powerball joined The State of Colorado as a stipulation Lottery Proceeds for Great Outdoors Colorado would be capped at $35 million dollars and excess would be put aside for School Health and Safety, funds would also be allocated for Colorado's Public School Capital Construction Assistance Fund.

The Colorado State Lottery offers five Lottery Drawing Games Powerball, Mega Millions, LOTTO, MatchPlay, and Cash 5. Drawing Times for Powerball are 9:00 PM Wednesday and Saturday evenings, and Mega Millions Draw Times are 9:00 PM Tuesday and Friday nights. COLORADO LOTTERY DRAWING TICKETS

Powerball, brought to you by The Colorado State Lottery, is a $2.00 dollar Lottery Ticket with odds of winning the Jackpot Prize being one in 176 million.
