The Connecticut Lottery Corporation offered one lottery game when it first began operation called "The Lottery" which started out with a large audience. The Connecticut Lottery joined The Multi-State lottery Association or (MUSL) in 1995 for the popular lottery game Powerball, and later in 2010 joined The Multi-Jurisdictional Lottery for it's renowned lottery game Mega Millions. Persons playing The Connecticut Lottery must be 18 years of age or older.

CONNECTICUT LOTTERY REGULATIONS

Public Act No.# 865 was signed into Law in 1971 and later Connecticut began in 1972 distribution of a single lottery ticket for entertainment purposes directed at the good people of Connecticut. The Connecticut Department of Consumer Protection, Gaming Division, handles Regulations and Laws pertaining to the Connecticut Lottery, Gaming Revenue and Statistic Analysis of the Connecticut Lottery, Tribal Gaming Compacts, and Resources set aside for Problem Gambling and Gambling Addiction. All of these areas are overseen by The Connecticut Gaming Policy Board, a Branch of The Connecticut Department of Consumer Protection, Gaming Division.

DISTRIBUTION OF CONNECTICUT LOTTERY PROCEEDS

The Connecticut Lottery, significantly helps State efforts towards Funding Education, Public Libraries, Public Safety, and Public Health. Since 1972 Connecticut has raised more than $7.2 billion dollars for the State to distribute to these cause's and more than $12 billion dollars given to lottery ticket winners from the Connecticut Lottery. From July 2010 until July 2011 The Connecticut Lottery generated sales of $1 billion dollars, returning a record $290 million dollars to the Connecticut State General Fund, Connecticut Lottery Winners won a total of $610 million dollars between July 2010 and July 2011. Also between the 2010 to 2011 Year, 20% a near $60 million was given to Medicaid from The Connecticut State General Fund, 15% divvied up to The Department of Education, and a little over 4% given from the State's General Fund to Higher Education services, almost $56 million dollars altogether. Also The Connecticut Lottery donates annually $1.5 million dollars to combat and prevent Problem Gambling in their State.

Mega Millions, has been a part of The Connecticut Lottery since January 31st of 2010. Mega Millions drawings are shown Tuesday and Friday nights at 11:22 PM on Fox CT T.V Channel 61 or WCCT Television Channel 20 simultaneously. The Connecticut Lottery also offers such games as Classic Lotto, Lucky for Life, CASH5, Play 3, Play 4, and Super Draw from The Connecticut Lottery. The CT Lottery offers seven denomination's for their Scratch Tickets $1 dollar Tickets, $2 dollar Scratch Tickets, $3 dollar Lottery Scratch Tickets, for the Big Spenders $5 dollar Tickets and $10 dollar Lottery Tickets, and for those people who have to have it all $20 dollar and $30 dollar Lottery Scratch Tickets brought to you by The Connecticut State Lottery.

CONNECTICUT LOTTERY DRAWING TICKETS

Powerball, Grand Prize Jackpot for Powerball starts at $40 million dollars and grows from there. Powerball Tickets are sold for $2.00 dollars apiece with an option for five plays per ticket costing a total of $10.00 dollars for all five plays. Odds of winning Powerball's Jackpot are one in 175,000,000 million. Drawings for Powerball are held at 10:59 PM Saturday and Wednesday on WCCT T.V Channel 20 or Fox CT Television Channel 61.

Mega Millions, Jackpot starts at $12 million and grows. Mega Millions costs $1.00 dollar a Lottery Ticket. Odds of winning Mega Millions Jackpot Prize are one in 176,000,000 million. Drawings for Mega Millions are held at 11:22 PM Friday and Tuesday on WCCT T.V Channel 20 or Fox CT Television Channel 61.

Super Draw, from The Connecticut State Lottery is a six pick raffle styled lottery ticket with a chance at a Grand Prize of $1,000,000 million dollars. Super Draw Tickets cost $10 dollars each with 275,000 Tickets printed, tickets will be printed by number as purchased Statewide.

Play 4, is a four pick Lottery Drawing Ticket that can be purchased for as low as 50¢ a Ticket up too $5.00 a Ticket. Play 4 drawings are held twice daily, in the afternoon at 1:57 PM and in the evening at 10:29 PM. Drawings are aired on Channels 61 and 20.

Play 3, is a pick three Lottery Ticket that is sold at Retailers for a minimum cost of 50¢ a Lottery Ticket up too $5.00 dollars a Lotto Ticket. Play 3 has two drawings daily the first held at 1:57 PM in the middle of the day, and the second drawing occurs at 10:29 PM at night. Drawings are aired on WCCT Television Channel 20 or on Channel 61 Fox CT.

CASH5, is a pick five Lottery Ticket that is Pari-Mutuel Lottery Game that costs $1.00 dollar a Ticket and has a Grand Prize of $100,000 dollars. Drawings for CASH5 are held daily in the evening at 10:29 PM on Connecticut Channels 20 and 61.

Lucky For Life, the last drawing for Lucky-4-Life was held March 8th 2012, the new Lucky For Life Lottery Ticket will start operation March 11th 2012. Lucky For Life, Grand Prize is $7000 dollars a week for life. Tickets cost $2.00 dollars apiece and are considered a pick five Lottery Ticket. Drawings are held every Thursday and Monday at 10:35 PM on WCCT T.V Channel 20 or Fox CT Television Channel 61.
