Description: lottery.state.de.us | Delaware State Lottery, The Delaware Lottery was organized by a Act of General Assembly and passed into Law on May 31st of 1974. It wasn't until October 1975 that the Delaware State Lottery started selling weekly drawing lottery tickets to the general public. In 1991 the Multi-State Lottery Association started selling their branded Powerball Lotto Tickets to the citizens of Delaware, and in 2010 Mega Millions joined the Delaware State Lottery. In September of 2009 The Delaware Lottery started selling Sports Lottery at Three Racetracks, or sometimes called in Delaware Racinos, a merging of Horse Race Tracks and Casinos. All persons must be age 18 or older to purchase Lottery Tickets, but Sports Lottery and people entering the Racinos must be at least 21 years of age.
DELAWARE STATE LOTTERY REGULATIONS
The State of Delaware regulates the Delaware Lotteries under Title 10:200, Charitable Gambling and Lottery, as overseen by the Office of the State Lottery. The Delaware Lottery created the Delaware State General Fund to oversee expenditures of proceeds generated by the Delaware State Lottery. Delaware Lottery contributes to communities and offers hundreds of job opportunities to the people that play their games every day, through The Delaware State General Fund, Retailers at local stores, and jobs that become available because of the Delaware Lottery.
DISTRIBUTION OF DELAWARE LOTTERY FUNDS
Since 1975 the Delaware Lottery has generated over $3.5 billion to the State General Fund in monies that have been distributed throughout the Counties of Delaware. During the year 2011 almost $300 million was accumulated for The Delaware State Lottery General Fund, and during the 2004 year The State Lottery's contributions to the State General Fund was near $222 million. Delaware State Lottery distributes money through the State General Fund as such, 30% percent goes to the (SGF) or State General Fund, 10% is paid in Lottery Commission's and Bonuses due to Lottery Retailers for distribution of winning lotto tickets. The Delaware Lottery conducts itself with money earned through it's own lottery profits, 5% percent of Lottery Revenues are diverted to running the Delaware Lotto. And the majority of the Lottery Fund Revenues, 50% percent are awarded to Lottery Ticket Winners. The Delaware State General Fund overseas the distribution of Lottery Revenue to Governments Services ran by the Delaware Local State Officials. Who in turn divide the General Funds between the Public School System, Health and Social Services, Wildlife and Ecological Management of State Lands, and State Correctional Services including Public Safety. All of these organizations have in mind the best interest of the People of Delaware.

DELAWARE LOTTERY DRAWING TICKETS
