Hang On - the picture on the right is rather large so it might take a few seconds longer than normal to load. We tried to get the best quality picture possible. This Lottery Paper (Handout) is from the mid 1600's England. It appears to be a set of rules and prizes paid out for a lottery with the profits of this lottery to go to provisioning the new colony of Virginia located in America. Sorry for the low quality of the picture. The original is not in very good shape. "To him that first shall bee drawne out with a blanke 100 Crownes" "The money for Adventures is to bee paid to Sir Thomas Smith Knight Treasurer for Virginia at his house in Philpot Lane." |
