Pompeii Slot Machine
Aristocrat is not exactly known for their interactive features, crazy bonus rounds or flash graphics. With Pompeii they have managed to take this to a brand new level of dullness. This slot really does not have anything interesting at all. It works on the ‘reel power’ system, though looks like something that would have already been going out of date at the end of the 1990’s. Still, there is a call for plain slots which have the potential for decent pay-outs. If you are the type that enjoys this category of game, then read on.
Graphically, this is about as plain as a slot can get. There are the regular Roman symbols there, with a gladiator helmet, chariot and sword / shield in place. You’ll also get Roman coins which say ‘veni, vichi or verde’ when they land (this did get a little annoying after a while). To me these graphics look like they were simply transplanted from an old mechanical slot, where they might have been quite up to date at one point. Other than the ‘veni’ when the coins land, the sounds are pure Aristocrat. These consist of beeps, bleeps and clicks – often in confusing cascades of what may or may not be a tune. At least you will be hearing those when you win, which takes some of the pain away. There is a free spins round in this game, which comes with a multiplier. This big win potential is the only real reason I can see for choosing this slot, which is a standard higher variance / higher pay-out game.
