For nearly fifty years Barcrest has been a key name in the UK gaming industry. They have described themselves as “the go-to company for arcade, bingo and pub game content” and have certainly lived up to that description. The company has strong points galore but the most important one for Barcrest is their ability to be innovative and move with the times.
Years of Experience
For years if you went into your local pub/club and put a coin in a slot machine, the chances are it was one developed by Barcrest. Their fame and business spread around the world ever since they were founded in the UK in 1968.

As the years have flown by Barcrest have continued to be an innovative company moving with the times. Their MPU-format based fruit machines included such popular games as ‘Card Cash’ proved to be massive hits as did their ‘Super Line Up’ game in the 1980s.

They have continued to have one big hit after another and that’s no surprise when they tie-up with massive global brands. In the 1990s they introduced ‘The Terminator’ and ‘Star Wars: A New Hope’ thrilling their legion of fans. Their games didn’t just have massively popular themes but also involved a degree of skill. That was really important because UK laws declared that slot machines had to have some element of skill contained, something that TV gameshows also had to comply with.

New Markets
Barcrest Gaming were acquired by IGT in 1998 and this led to even more success as new markets were conquered.  IGT had made a big name for themselves in America and wanted to expand into Europe, Barcrest would allow them to do this.

The company weren’t ones to find themselves falling behind their opponents and as the internet took hold, Barcrest began releasing games for the online market such as ‘Monty’s Millions’ and ‘Money Mad Martians.’

Popular Games From Barcrest
It was in 2006 that Barcrest really hit the jackpot as they released ‘Rainbow Riches.’  This five-reel game with 20 paylines soon became a massive hit for the company and nearly a decade later it’s still incredibly popular with players all over the world.

Barcrest certainly had the luck of a leprechaun when they came up with this great game. It’s certainly earned them their fair share of pots of gold. Players just can’t get enough of lucrative bonuses such as Road to Riches, Wishing Well and Pots of Gold.

Their run of success continued with the release of ‘Rob Da Bank’. This was released in June 2008 and this action packed game with features galore including everything from nudges to red no lose bonuses and hidden riches if you can crack the code.

Games with a pirate theme have always proved popular and Barcrest came up with a real cracker. ‘Captain Jackpot’s Cash Ahoy’ and is based on another of their popular games ‘Captain Jackpot’s Treasure Trove.’ This five-reel game with 20 paylines gives players the chance to win £200,000 as you hunt down that all-important treasure chest.

Ever moving forward, Barcrest have introduced new features such as bonus gamble and multi-level Super Trails giving players something new to contend with.

The Future
