As a 5×3 reel game the game setup for the Foxy Dynamite Slot isn’t overly complicated. You can play all 99x lines at a x1 bet multiplier for 0.33 credits or add in the mystery bucks feature and it costs 0.60 credits. Max bet is 333 and 600 credits for the two game modes respectively, with a 1000x stake multiplier available at that level. The lines can also be broken down and played at 45/15/9 and 3 but we would recommend keeping all lines active and lowering the bet if bankroll is a consideration.

The other controls on the game are clearly laid out and straightforward, you can bet manually or auto-spin up to twenty-five times with a replay button available for the last win sequence. The Foxy Dynamite slot gets two bonus features available, the first is the tumbling reels feature, known as cascading reels to most IGT slot game fans. Each winning combination will vanish from the screen and be replaced by new symbols from above until no further winning combos are formed, Tetris style. Where Foxy Dynamite differs from other High 5 Games slots with this mechanic, such as the Crystal Kingdom slot for example, is the use of a further secondary bonus called mystery bucks.

Each time the win combinations explode from the reels, they are replaced by a stick of dynamite with a lit fuse, if the fuse fizzles out, the tumbling reels continue as normal. If the fuse burns all the way down though, the dynamite explodes and randomly adds a credit value between 10-1000 credits multiplied by the active bet multiplier of the spin!

This is a very limited number of spins and they can’t be re-triggered, though, the cascading reels feature is still in effect throughout. If you entered the spins round with the mystery bucks bet placed as a feature bet then this too will be active, between the three features the spins round may be small but can be rewarding in its own right.

Conclusion

Visually, even by High 5 Games standards the Foxy Dynamite slot is one of their best and the 70’s theme is fantastically well integrated. Purely on its entertainment value alone this is a slot game which you could while away many a happy hour to, though I would prefer the groovy music backing track and audio voiceovers to be permanent rather than linked to spins as it can be a touch disjointed. These are small quibbles though and from a gaming perspective – this is a memorable disco hit worthy of a place in the range.

From a gambling perspective, as a cash slot rather than a free to play emulator, Foxy Dynamite falls a little short. Like many of the High 5 Games slots released in recent years it’s very much biased towards demo play and the variance is far too low to keep the heart of veteran gamblers beating despite the decent bet range on offer.
