This is another fairy tale themed slot. While the graphics and features are different, the sounds and mood reminded me strongly of Diamond Queen – though it is not as up to date as that game. For me this felt like a previous generation video slot. It comes from a time when expanding wilds and a simple pick-em game were the latest thing, and that the ability to choose your win lines was still a little novel too. These games have their fans of course, not everyone wants high intensity interaction. The RTP is very high on this game, with a max of 97.39% reported.

Somehow the symbols seem split. Some of them are forest based (pine cones, berries) and others are kings and lions – and of course the unicorn. The Disney like spell noises and background sound track which sounds like the tune from a knight’s quest adds to the atmosphere. The graphics themselves are clean and bright, just not the latest detailed work you’ll find in other online casino slots.

There are two interesting features; the first is the expanding wilds during normal game play. Second there is a bonus round where you make your way up a board by picking tiles.

You can choose from between 1 and 20 lines on this slot. With the expanding wilds you’d be doing yourself a disservice by taking less than the full amount. You really want as many winning lines as possible when the unicorns take up an entire reel. I recommend you adjust your coins instead. You can bet from 1c per line online, with between 1 and 5 coins per line. At $1 per line and 5 coins, you’d be spinning for $100 each time. There is an auto spin as with most IGT slots.

Of the standard symbols, the lion is the biggest payer. This gives you 2000 coins for 5 of a kind. The King and Queen come next, with 750 coins for 5, and the rose, mushrooms and other ‘forest’ symbols follow with smaller win amounts.

The unicorn is the wild symbol, which appears on reels 2, 3 and 4 only. This substitutes for any symbol other than the scatters or bonus chest. Wins which include a unicorn are doubled with the exception of the top prize of 5 lions.

Sometimes this slot gives you the ‘unicorn feature’. A unicorn on the reels expands to fill all 3 spots, which usually creates multiple wins.

The remaining symbols are the full moon scatters, which pay up to 100 times your total bet for 5, and the treasure chest which appears in lines 1 and 5 to give you the bonus feature.

One extra which is more common on the slots of other providers (Aristocrat in particular) is the ability to gamble your wins. You can choose black or red on the flip of a playing card. This is next to the spin button on the controls.

Enchanted Unicorn Bonus Feature

When you trigger the feature you’ll get taken to a break out screen which is a 5×5 board. You start at the bottom by picking a square. This either gives you a prize in coins, or a unicorn, which multiplies your win. The prizes you did not pick are then revealed and you go to the next level up. At the 3rd level you can meet a bad guy who will end your bonus round. I’m not sure if this is a joker, wizard or something else completely. The prizes get bigger and the bad guys increase as you get to the top of the grid.

This bonus feature is a little old-school, though it is an interesting break from the regular game which can bring you some mid-sized wins.
