As we said before, Nordic Heroes is flush with special features to accompany its standard base game. To begin with, you’ll find that there’s a wild icon within both variations of the base game. This substitutes for all other icons in order to form a winning combination. However, it will not stand in for any of the
multipliers, bonus symbols or bonus round triggering icons.
And speaking of the bonus rounds, there is a ‘Battle’ bonus symbol. If this appears anywhere on reels one, three and five, you’ll trigger the battle bonus round. Furthermore, it will pay out two times your total wager. The battle bonus round for both Thora and Ragnar sees you provided with freespins. Furthermore, the three standard low paying icons change into red, green and blue gemstones for this round. There are also scatter icons within this round. Those are the enraged wolf, the violent warthog and the villainess with her fire arrows. Following every freespin, the battle reels will spin. These do damage, protect against incoming damage and stun your opponent. Keep spinning until your character defeats three monsters or until you suffer defeat. Whenever you defeat the three monsters, you’ll earn one, two, five or 10 Victory Spins.
What’s more, the game contains a Mystery Multiplier Reel. This can randomly trigger after any base game win that doesn’t activate the Battle Bonus. This can multiply your wins by up to times 30, depending upon the level that you’re at. Your level will increase via defeating monsters in the battle round. Every time you earn a victory, you receive experience points. Higher levels permanently increase your pay outs. The highest level you can attain is ‘Champion’. You will also unlock achievements every time that you defeat a monster. These achievements include better weapons for future battles as well as stronger armour. You’re able to change characters at level three, as we said previously. Furthermore, you can change the realm from the Forest of Fortune to the Sea of Glory. You can unlock this realm at level five.
