Global Cup Soccer
Global Cup Soccer Slot
Before I get on with what will be a fair and unbiased review, I have to state upfront that I strongly dislike the name of this slot. I see where they are going; the Football World Cup is the biggest sporting event by a massive margin after all. The choice of words is just so wrong, like an American who never even saw the game came up with it. The closest equivalent might be making a NFL slot and calling it ‘Body Armoured Egg Chasers’!
Back to the 3-reel slot; which is a solid enough game from Rival Gaming with the chance to multiply your wins by hitting different cups. The logo which is a bright gold design dominates the screen, on top of a giant ball with the flags of many nations in the background. Underneath this on the right hand side are the reels, which have a green turf-textured background and symbols with relatively complex shading. To the left is the pay table, which takes up a lot of the screen. While the turf background is along the right lines, the grid on this is very un-football like.
Symbols include 3 different coloured cups, in gold, silver and bronze – the gold one at least looks like a vague approximation of the world cup. There are balls, and the top paying symbol of the referee (no, I have no idea why this should be the top symbol either). The remaining symbols are made up by 1, 2 and 3 bars – which are alternate black and white designs.
There is a tune playing in the background which is on a short loop. While this is harmless enough for a while, it did get jarring after 5 minutes or so. Spinning sounds are the standard whirr, with a dull thud as each reel stops.
